Botswana leads Africa's wilderness tourism and preserves this national treasure by focussing on low-volume, exclusive and exceptional-quality safaris. Explorers seek out the vast deserts of the Kalahari, the sweeping salt pans of the Makgadikgadi and the world renown Okavango Delta. For a long period hunting was suspended in Botswana. That moratorium has since been lifted and hunters can now journey to one of the last truly wild African plains.
Travel Information
Transfer
For international hunters intending to fly to Botswana, we offer a complimentary collection service to and from Sir Seretse Khama International Airport, Gaborone. You will have an opportunity to pick-up any last minute provisions in town before heading into the wild. This will be a short 2 hour trip by car and an opportunity to have your first glimpse of Botswana.
Firearms
Traveling with firearms requires some preparation. Please let us know in advance, we'd be happy to assist with the process.
If you prefer to avoid the hassle of travelling with a firearm we have a selection of proven rifles available.
Weather
You will experience the Kalahari desert climate. It is characterized by extreme day and night temperatures. The cold months of May, June, July and August can dip below freezing overnight and rise to 25°C / 77°F during the day. The hot months start at 10° / 50°F in the morning and climb to 35°C / 95°F during the day.
Medical
80 Due North is located in the Kweneng District in the South of Botswana. This region does not require any special vaccinations for malaria, yellow fever or dengue.
Trophy & Taxidermy
Trophies can be prepared on site and forwarded to a professional taxidermist in Botswana. The taxidermist would then handle your trophy request and export directly to your home. Please allow several months for the mounting and transport of your trophy.
